What are the 2026 Atlantic hurricane names?

There have been some stumbling blocks for pronunciation in previous years, but most of the 2026 names seem fairly straightforward. If you're not sure, NOAA has a pronunciation guide:

  • Arthur
  • Bertha
  • Cristobal
  • Dolly
  • Edouard
  • Fay
  • Gonzalo
  • Hanna
  • Isaias
  • Josephine
  • Kyle
  • Leah
  • Marco
  • Nana
  • Omar
  • Paulette
  • Rene
  • Sally
  • Teddy
  • Vicky
  • Wilfred

If you recognize any of the names from previous years, that's because the lists of names are recycled by NOAA every six years (i.e. the 2026 list will be used again in 2032).

The list only changes if a storm name is retired because it is so deadly or costly that using the name again would be insensitive, NOAA explains.

What if we end up with more than 21 named storms? Well, then NOAA will switch to its alternate list of names approved by the World Meteorological Organization.
